Linux server file copy between server is slow on only one segment

1. Check the /etc/hosts file is proper – because some applications uses the hosts file
2. Check ifconfig and make sure the active interface
3. Check DNS and Gateway
4. Check the routing table and confirm it is through the proper Gateway
# route -n

We had an incident because /etc/hosts had different ip address then active IP address which caused the file transfer very slow.
